Orthomoleculaire therapie Orthomoleculaire therapie is een natuurgeneeswijze die gebaseerd is op het reguleren van de lichaamsfuncties door middel van optimale voeding. Hierbij gaat de aandacht vooral naar de voedingsstoffen die op moleculair niveau werken zoals vitamines, mineralen, essentiele vetzuren en eiwitten. Alleen de stoffen die van nature voorkomen in onze voeding worden hierbij gebruikt. De term "orthos" komt uit het Grieks en betekent: "juist", "recht" of "gezond". "Moleculair" staat voor molecuul. Orthomoleculaire therapie streeft naar zogenoemde "optimale" concentraties voedingsstoffen in het lichaam, getracht wordt deze te bereiken met doseringen die soms ver boven de aanbevolen dagelijkse hoeveelheden uitkomen.
